From August 1st through September 6th, Downtown Ogden will welcome nearly half a million visitors for the Ogden LDS Temple Open House. Given the number of visitors and money spent, this will be one of the largest events in Ogden’s history. The temple is one of the largest private re-development investments in the state, just a bit smaller than the City Creek complex in Salt Lake City.
More officially known as the Trail to Pioneer Days, the horses you see along 25th Street and all over downtown are part of an art collection that includes about seventy life-size fiberglass horses.
Trail to Pioneer Days began in 2009 to mark the 75th anniversary of Ogden Pioneer Days. This year, the 80th year of Pioneer Days, welcomes a handful of new horses and a few new placements as our downtown corridor has grown.
