The Third Annual Indie Ogden Awards will be held at the new Hub 801 event space which is in the repurposed Coke bottling facility of yester-year.
Early last week, nominees were informed whether they made it into the Top 3 for their category and we’re incredibly proud to announce that there are more than thirty Top 3’s on this street! The Best of Ogden is right here! But we already knew that.
Some of our businesses are competing against each other – which makes sense given that we have some of the best dining and entertainment in the whole state all occupying a three block strip and considering each other neighbors and friends.
“As a bar owner, you want other good bars to be close to you. One good bar isn’t enough, people want to roam and to make an experience of it,” says Brewskis and City Club owner, both of which are nominated for Best Local Bar, “we’re not competing with each other so much as supporting that overall vibe.”
The 25th Street Association is also competing against itself in a couple categories, mainly the “Best Event” section which includes nominations for Harvest Moon Festival and the Ogden Farmer’s Market (the association took a huge role in extending the market down the street this past summer).
You can see a full list of the nominees here.
“The Indie Ogden Awards is our way of saying thank you to Ogden,” said Mikaela Platter, founder and editor in chief of Indie Ogden. “In such a unique city, with a bounty of local companies, and a community that contributes so much, I saw the need to reward and celebrate their efforts. An Indie Ogden Award proves the community supports and recognizes their hard work.”
The awards show is sold out.
The official after party will be held at Alleged, located at 205 25th Street.
